Jason Momoa in negotiations for Guardians of the Galaxy

Khal Drogo himself, Jason Momoa, is in negotiations to star opposite Chris Pratt in Marvel’s upcoming space superhero flick Guardians of the Galaxy.

According to Latino Review, Marvel offered Momoa the part of Drax the Destroyer following a successful screen test.

His representatives are in the midst of negotiations with the studio.

Momoa’s reign as the Dothraki warlord on Game of Thrones has come to an end, and his first big-screen role – Conan the Barbarian – was a non-starter.

Taking part in a Marvel tentpole – even an ensemble piece – would be a big move for his career.

Chris Pratt has already been cast as Peter Quill, team leader of the titular Guardians.

James Gunn will direct the flick, set to hit cinemas in 2014.
