Senate investigation into Zero Dark Thirty dropped in wake of Academy Awards loss

Within 24 hours of Zero Dark Thirty losing Best Picture to Argo, the Senate Intelligence Committee closed its inquiry into the film, Reuters reports. As if the Oscar snub wasn’t enough…

Initially questioning whether members of the CIA had inappropriately given the filmmakers information about the Osama Bin Laden case, the committee put together to investigate this case strangely dropped it the day after the Oscars.

After Bigelow and her team were mostly left out in the cold by the Academy, they at least can now relax and not worry about being waterboarded for information in the future.

Zero Dark Thirty did win one Academy Award from its five nominations. For Sound Editing. And it tied with Skyfall.
