Halle Berry back as Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past

We knew it was coming, but it’s nice to have confirmation all the same.

Halle Berry will reprise the role of Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Director Bryan Singer revealed her casting via Twitter, just as he has with every  other actor affiliated with the film.

She joins former castmates Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, and Shawn Ashmore.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult will also reprise their roles from the 1960s set X-Men prequel First Class.

Peter Dinklage and The Intouchables’ Omar Sy are new additions to the cast.

Wondering how the present and past versions of Professor X and Magneto intersect, or how an older Storm can share the screen with a young Mystique? We’re not entirely sure!

The flick will no doubt be playing fast and loose with a lot of the laws of time and space. But hey, we’re intrigued.

It hits cinemas July 2014.
