Jay Roach is set to helm a new movie based on the doping scandal that saw Lance Armstrong stripped of his seven Tour de France championships, Deadline reports.
Warner Bros has acquired the untitled project, scripted by Side Effects‘s Scott Z. Burns. The package – put together by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner – contains the life rights to Armstrong’s fellow US Postal Service teammate Tyler Hamilton.
It was announced earlier this year that Paramount were planning a biopic on Armstrong with Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
Based on Juliet Macur’s pitch for the book Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong, it had Bradley Cooper linked to the starring role.
Neither movie has a release date.
