24 fans were dealt a blow today as director Antoine Fuqua, long attached to the feature film version of the TV series, announced to The Playlist that the movie may never happen.
Talk of a 24 feature film has been circulating for some time, though word spread last year to a potential trilogy.
Fuqua (Training Day, Brooklyn’s Finest) was attached and everyone began to anticipate the return of the beloved Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).
Unfortunately, Fuqua’s recent comments suggest Fox couldn’t come to an arrangement with Sutherland or the producers.
Money is always the bottom line and after negotiations went on and on, all parties ultimately just moved on with Sutherland having to return to production on his latest show, Touch.
I guess those missing out on a “torture for the good of the country film” can get a hit from Zero Dark Thirty in the meantime whilst we wait indeterminately for the return of Jack Bauer to our screens.
