Despite being met with a collective shrug by American cinemagoers (and almost all critics), Paramount has given the green light to a Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters sequel.
According to Deadline, the announcement coincides with the picture crossing the $200 million mark at the international box office. Seems there were some nations that weren’t totally bored by Tommy Wirkola’s comedy-fantasy.
Here in Australia, the pic has grossed a decent $7.9 million in the six weeks since its release.
Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, who surely thought they would not have to fulfil the ‘sequel’ clause of their contract, will likely return as the title characters.
