Jude Law exits Jane Got a Gun after director Lynne Ramsay fails to show up for work

Things are happening on the set of Natalie Portman’s western Jane Got a Gun.

Jude Law

Deadline yesterday revealed that director Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin) failed to show up for the first day of work on her new film.

Producer Scott Steindorff – who, it should be said, is the only person from the picture to talk publicly about the production issues – said he had not heard from Ramsay, but was intent on keeping the picture on track.

Warrior helmer Gavin O’Connor was brought on board, which subsequently led to the exit of Jude Law.

Nothing personal, probably. But Law had specifically signed on to work with Ramsay. It is unknown if he is in breach of his contract (unlikely, as it seems ‘street law’ has been instated here).

The picture recently saw the exit of Michael Fassbender, who was replaced by Joel Edgerton.

Portman’s unlikely to go anywhere, however. Not only is she the star, but she’s producing too.

We look forward to hearing Ramsay’s side of the story soon.
