The trailer for the highly anticipated Before Midnight is finally here, and it confirms what we’ve all be suspecting: that this film is likely to blow us away.
The film, directed by Richard Linklater and co-written by Linklater, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke, picks up nine years after we left Jesse (Hawke) and Celine (Delpy) in Before Sunset.
It’s been almost two decades since this pair met by chance on a train in Before Sunrise, and, in Before Midnight, we’re privy to a host of philosophical musings on life and love as this couple meet the challenges of a new stage of their lives and relationship.
The trailer reveals Jesse and Celine, now in their forties, have twin girls and are holidaying in Greece; and while laughing in front of friends around the dinner table, there are cracks beginning to appear in their relationship.
Before Midnight will be like reuniting with old friends with soulful conversations and reflections, and we can’t wait for this film’s release on 13 June.
