Matthew McConaughey scores lead role in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

Matthew McConaughey spent the last two years turning down plenty of tripe, instead opting for interesting, small-budget pics such as Bernie, Killer Joe, Magic Mike, and Mud. Much acclaim followed. It’s now paying off for him, big time.

According to Deadline – and confirmed by the man himself – McConaughey will star in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming blockbuster Interstellar.

The picture marks Nolan’s first film since wrapping up his Dark Knight trilogy in 2012.

Interstellar, which was penned by Nolan’s brother and frequent collaborator Jonathan, is said to involve such devices as “time travel and alternate dimensions.”

The rest of the plot is being held tightly under wraps. Obviously.

Steven Spielberg was once attached to helm.

Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros will produce.
