First look at Sullivan Stapleton in 300: Rise of an Empire

The first images from the upcoming sequel to 300 have been unleashed and they look appropriately stylish.

300: Rise Of An Empire stars Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom), yet another Aussie face making it big in Hollywood action film world.

Zack Snyder has handed over the computer generated reins to Noam Murro for this entry in the violent saga.

This will be Murro’s second feature after 2008’s passable indie dramedy Smart People. Based on prior work, Murro seems like a strange choice for such a stylised film, but these images seem to signal a continuation of Snyder’s spectacularly hyper-colour world.

Co-starring with Stapleton will be Lena Headey, straight out of Game Of Thrones, and Eva Green, straight out of, erm, Dark Shadows.

Whether anyone cares to see a sequel to 300 is yet to be determined but you can find out for yourself later in 2013.
