A lengthy new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel has debuted ahead of the film’s June release, giving us a greater glimpse of Kal-El’s escape from the exploding planet Krypton, as well as Michael Shannon as the villainous General Zod.
Though still an origin story for Superman (Henry Cavill), the trailer does promise a whole heap more action than was delivered in 2006’s much-maligned Superman Returns.
The tears might flow too, particularly when it comes to Supes’ alien father Jor-El (Russell Crowe) farewelling his baby boy, and adoptive pa Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner) informing the teen prodigy of his true identity.
Anyway, why are you still reading. Just watch.
Got to love composer Hans Zimmer’s work here.
Man of Steel, produced by Christopher Nolan, also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Laurance Fishburne as Perry White.
