Jack Bauer to Live Another Day; 24 returning to TV in 2014

Jack Bauer will return after all, and not in the much rumoured feature film version of 24 but a special limited 12 episode series titled 24: Live Another Day.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, original showrunner Howard Gordon is set to produce this special season, finding the time between writing episodes of his latest hit show Homeland.

Kiefer Sutherland, of course, will once again be front and centre as his schedule suddenly opened up after his current show Touch was cancelled by Fox (who will air 24: Live Another Day in May of 2014).

I know what you’re thinking: how can 24 be done in 12 episodes?

Well, according to Fox, it will still be a story that takes place over 24 hours but the series will “jump hours.”

Whilst slightly cheating the original concept, this is a pretty clever idea as sometimes the A to B travelling moments in the prior series were quite wretched.

Let’s just concentrate on what this announcement truly means, shall we? Jack Bauer will return to our screens in 2014 to torture more terrorists!
