Teaser Debut: Machete Kills

Robert Rodriguez’s mad collection of pals assemble in the teaser trailer for Machete Kills, the unlikely sequel to 2010’s Machete (which, as you may recall, began life as a fake trailer from Grindhouse).

Just some of the names we get to see in action beside Danny Trejo’s title character: Lady Gaga, Sofia Vergara, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez, Mel Gibson, and Carlos Estevez.

That last one not ringing a bell? It’s Charlie Sheen’s birth name. He’s here, playing the President.

We’ll get to see them all in action later this year. That is, so long as Overnight Productions’ lawsuit against Robert Rodriguez’s Quick Draw Productions doesn’t bar the film from release.

Overnight are seeking $2 million in damages, claiming they have been kept in the dark as to the film’s budget and the Texas tax credits that have been awarded, making it impossible for them to determine their producer fee.

But hey, Machete’s gotten out of stickier situations before!
