Poster Debut: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Warner Bros has unveiled the first poster for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug via the film’s official Twitter page.

The second of Peter Jackson’s three Hobbit features, this one sees Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and his merry band of dwarves face off against the titular, insanely wealthy dragon (voiced by Freeman’s Sherlock co-star, Benedict Cumberbatch).

We assume it’ll be a dash more exciting than the final chapter, There and Back Again, in which our heroes will presumably walk home talking about what a great time they’ve had.

The Desolation of Smaug hits cinemas this December.
