Bad news for fans of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne. That long-gestating Dumb and Dumber sequel, titled Dumb and Dumber To (sic), has been dropped by Warner Bros.
For a while it seemed the follow up to 1994’s hit Dumb and Dumber was a go, with Bobby and Peter Farrelly spruiking their completed script, and stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels announcing their enthusiasm for the flick at every opportunity.
But now, Warner Bros (parent company to New Line Cinema, where the picture has been developed) want out of the Dumb and Dumber business.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio got cold feet about green lighting another Jim Carrey comedy after the failure of their Burt Wonderstone earlier in the year.
This is despite Dumb and Dumber To’s modest $30 million budget.
This does, however, mean the script can be shopped to other studios.
So, you’re saying there’s a chance?!
