Man of Steel sequel in the works, already

Warner Bros. feel confident of Man of Steel’s success (their head, just last week, predicted it will become their biggest ever hit).

The studio is putting their money where their mouth is, and have already set director Zack Snyder and writer David S. Goyer to start work on the sequel, Deadline reports.

This would mark the second feature in Goyer’s three-picture deal with Warner Bros. He will also begin work on a Justice League script; a DC team-up flick they no doubt hope will rival Marvel’s The Avengers.

Producer Christopher Nolan will be less involved with the Man of Steel sequel, now that he’s working on his next directorial effort, Interstellar.

Of course, all of this could be undone by a disappointing box office tally. Though that seems unlikely, nothing is certain until its opening weekend grosses come in.

Man of Steel opens in the U.S. this weekend, with a local release to follow at the end of June.
