Sandra Bullock is in talks to play Miss Hannigan in the upcoming remake of Annie, The Wrap reports.
The part was made famous by Carol Burnett in the 1982 original.
Bullock had initially turned the offer to star down, but has reportedly returned to the negotiation table.
Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis is set to play the titular moppet, with Jamie Foxx attached as Daddy Warbucks (though in this version, he’s called Benjamin Stacks).
Hannigan is the cruel supervisor of the orphanage from which Annie is plucked by NYC mayoral candidate Stacks.
Will Gluck is directing from a script by Emma Thompson.
Produced by Will Smith (it was originally meant to be a vehicle for his daughter Willow) and Jay-Z, this musical hits cinemas Christmas Day 2014.
