Last week, it was reported that Warner Bros had dropped Bobby and Peter Farrelly’s long-gestating Dumb and Dumber sequel, it apparently being too beautiful for this world.
WB did allow, however, for another studio to pick up the rights.
Well, according to the Farrelly Brothers’ Twitter account, Universal Pictures has saved the day.
The studio will team with Red Granite Pictures to produce Dumb and Dumber To, which will see Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels star once again as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne.
Budgeted at just $30 million, Dumb and Dumber To could be an easy hit for Universal.
