Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill For, has been delayed until 2014, Box Office Mojo reveals.
Originally slated for October 4, 2013, it has been moved to August 22, 2014.
The incredibly prolific Rodriguez certainly has much on his plate – Machete Kills is still set for later this year – but it’s nonetheless unusual for the quick-working director to require an extra 10 months for production.
This is the second major delay for co-director Frank Miller in the past few months. The adaptation of his comic 300: Rise of an Empire was similarly pushed to 2014.
It is unknown if this date change will affect the status of previously announced cast-members Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, and Jamie King (all returning from the original).
Newcomers include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Eva Green, and Juno Temple.
