Poster and Trailer Debut: Anchorman: The Legend Continues

A new poster and teaser trailer for Adam McKay’s Anchorman: The Legend Continues has hit the internet, finally giving us an impression of what to expect from the long-awaited sequel later this year.

The poster is clean, simple and effective: a giant close up of Ron Burgundy’s (Will Ferrell) moustache.

The trailer, on the other hand, is concerning and exciting in equal measure.

There is a sense we have seen this a million times before that is only compounded by the inclusion of “Don’t Stop Believing,” a song that well and truly needs to be banned from all films.

Yet, these characters are so damn funny that nostalgia put a huge smile on my face for the two minutes it was playing. The 1980s setting also seems to be giving the makers a bit of fresh material to work with.

The trailer does a good job of establishing the film as being reliably funny but it’s got a big legacy to live up to. We will find out if the sequel works December 2013.
