Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman returning for Independence Day 2

We knew Independence Day 2 was inevitable but we never knew what form it would take. Well, here’s something of an indication…

In an exclusive on Movies.com, director Roland Emmerich has revealed that Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman will appear in the sequel.

After Emmerich previously announced Will Smith would not be appearing in the sequel as he was too “expensive,” securing the Goldblum/Pullman combo was always going to be key.

Pullman will definitely make a great big speech while Goldblum will overcome a new alien invasion using some kind of Google Glass technology.

Emmerich has stated this sequel is “unusual” and that’s all we know of the plot.

Hopefully “unusual” means Randy Quaid is brought back (although considering he is currently on the run in Canada from the United States government who he suspects is trying to assassinate him, this is probably unlikely).
