Trailer Debut: Inside Llewyn Davis

The new trailer for Inside Llewyn Davis is moody, bleak, and hints at the dark humour we’ve come to expect from Joel and Ethan Coen’s films.

Inside

Set in 1961 in Greenwich Village, New York City, Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is not having a good week. He’s a struggling folk singer who’s all about the music and not selling out, and is loosely based on real-life folk musician Dave Van Ronk. This is his story; a Peter Pan of sorts who struggles to evolve as life changes around him.

The supporting cast is filled out by Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, and John Goodman (as a wise-cracking jazz musician).

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, winning the Grand Prix Award and a multitude of rave reviews; reviews which mostly suggest this trailer does little to reveal the brilliance of the actual film.

Inside Llewyn Davis is sure to excite Joel and Ethan Coen fans and folk music enthusiasts alike.

It hits local cinemas February 2014.
