The first official poster for Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy has arrived online.
It’s a striking image that replicates the dream-like tone of Park Chan-wook’s 2003 original.
Josh Brolin stars here as a man kidnapped and imprisoned – without explanation – for 20 years, before eventually being released back into the world (the scene depicted in the poster).
He seeks his captor with the help of a young woman, intent on figuring out why he was taken away from his family and framed for their murder. As the one-sheet suggests, this is not the question he should be asking.
Elizabeth Olsen and Sharlto Copley also star.
Both Park’s South Korean feature and Lee’s English-language version are adaptations of a Japanese manga series.
UPDATE: And now here’s the Red Band trailer.
Oldboy hits cinemas in November.
