The screenwriters behind Best Picture nominee The Fighter are set to adapt a forthcoming book on the Boston Marathon bombing.
According to Deadline, Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy have secured the rights to Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge’s upcoming book Boston Strong.
Sherman worked with Boston Herald reporter Wedge to examine the aftermath of the April 15 attacks, as well as the manhunt that led police to suspected bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on April 19.
The writing duo has a pre-existing relationship with Sherman, having already adapted her 2009 tome The Finest Hours for director Robert Schwentke (the picture is unproduced at this time).
