Rapper Riff Raff has long claimed James Franco’s character Alien from Spring Breakers is an unauthorised knock off. Now, he wants to get paid.
Riff told TMZ he plans to sue the makers of Spring Breakers for “$8 to $10 million.”
He stresses, however, that Franco is “cool,” and is impressed by the way he manages to “drop 4, 5 movies a year.”
Franco starred in the Harmony Korine picture as a corn-rowed, grill-wearing gangster rapper who takes in a quartet of teenage girls enjoying a debaucherous holiday in Florida.
Riff makes his case thusly: “If I have a front yard, and you’re planting soil, and you’re planting trees, and building peaches and houses and selling parking lots on my property, then I deserve to be compensated for some portion of that money.”
It doesn’t get much clearer than that.
His thoughts on the movie? “Great movie. Looking forward to Spring Breakers Part 2.”
