Teaser Debut: American Hustle

The teaser trailer for David O. Russell’s all-star bad-haircutathon, American Hustle, has arrived online.

The picture – formerly titled American Bulls**t – tells of a true sting operation of Atlantic City gangsters and corrupt politicians conducted by the FBI.

Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Jennifer Lawrence all star in the flick. Though not glimpsed in the trailer, Louis C.K., Michael Pena, and Robert De Niro also have key roles.

Bale won an Oscar for his work in Russell’s The Fighter, while Lawrence recently picked up the Best Actress statuette for her part in Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook (Cooper and De Niro also nabbed nominations).

Both of those movie were up for Best Picture.

So, expect to see American Hustle at the 2014 ceremony.

It hits American cinemas this December, with a local release to follow.
