Vegemite origin movie in the works

Vegemite

Author Jamie Callister has sold the film rights to his book, The Man Who Invented Vegemite.

According to the ABC, Melbourne’s The Film Company snapped up the rights with the intention of bringing the origin story of the iconic Australian spread to the screen.

The book concerns Jamie’s chemist grandfather, Cyril P. Callister, and his creation of the condiment. That his life spanned two world wars and the Great Depression should add extra, ahem, dramatic flavour.

It is unknown if the movie will be produced for cinemas or television.

Also unknown: when iSnack 2.0 will get its own film.
