Bradley Cooper is in talks to star in Warner Bros’ upcoming Lance Armstrong biopic, though it’s not yet known if he’ll play the disgraced, doping cyclist or Armstrong’s former team-mate and eventual whistle-blower, Tyler Hamilton.
According to Deadline, Cooper is also considering producing the flick, now titled Red Blooded American.
Jay Roach is set to direct from Scott. Z Burns’ script.
A rival Armstrong flick is in the works, with Stephen Frears attached as director and Ben Foster cast in the lead.
Meanwhile, Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are trying to get their adaptation of Juliet Macur’s Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong off the ground.
Cooper was originally approached by Abrams to play Armstrong in his feature, thus completing the circle.
