Hugh Jackman denies $100 million payday for future Wolverine movies

The Wolverine

With The Wolverine doing impressive business overseas – if not entirely in the U.S. – rumours began to swirl online that star Hugh Jackman had been offered $100 million for four more sequels.

Jackman has since addressed the rumours, telling EW, “No, it’s not true.”

“I would never do that. I’ve never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I’ve gone around there’s been a really good reason to do it and I don’t know what that reason is from here.

“I’m in the middle of making [X-Men: Days of Future Past] and I just promoted the other and I’m really happy with the way The Wolverine came out.”

So, there you go.

Now, that doesn’t mean we won’t see the 44-year-old Jackman in a bunch more Wolverine movies; simply that there’s no deal for them at this time.

If he does lead four more sole-Wolverine tales, expect him to collect much more than $100 million for his troubles.
