Tony Jaa joins Fast and Furious 7

Tony Jaa

Muay Thai warrior and Ong-Bak star Tony Jaa has joined the cast of Fast and Furious 7.

The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, who suggest UFC fighter Ronda Rousey might cameo in the flick too.

It is unknown if Jaa will join the side of “good” guys Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne Johnson (seeing as their crew lost some members at the end of Part 6) or that of the villainous Jason Statham (seeking revenge for his fallen brother).

Chris Morgan is still writing the “script,” so we won’t know proper details for some time.

This will mark Jaa’s English-language debut.

His Ong-Bak films made him a star both in his home of Thailand, and internationally. It was reported in 2010 that Jaa would retire from film to become a monk. Guess it didn’t pan out.

James Wan will direct F&F7, slated to hit cinemas July 2014.
