Arnold Schwarzenegger rumoured to be Avatar 2 villain

Take this one with a gobful of salt.

Latino Review‘s sources tell them James Cameron has recruited his former Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to play a villain in Avatar 2.

It was revealed earlier in the year that Avatar 2 would begin shooting in 2014 for a December 2016 release, which means casting would have to begin pretty soon.

Though it’s tantalising to think of a Cameron/Schwarzenegger reunion, we’ll believe it when we see it.

He’d at least be a more intimidating adversary than Giovanni Ribisi.

Josh Friedman is scripting the second Avatar, which will take place soon after the events of the first film.

Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver are writing Avatar 3, due December 2017, and Shane Salerno is penning Avatar 4, set for release in 2018.
