Despicable Me spin-off, Minions, delayed from 2014 to 2015

Minions

Following in Pixar’s footsteps, Universal has revealed they similarly won’t be releasing an animated film in 2014.

THR reports the studio has delayed their Despicable Me spin-off, Minions, from December 2014 to July 2015.

This delay, however, is not due to any internal disunion, as Pixar’s pushing of The Good Dinosaur to 2015 was.

Instead, Universal merely want to replicate the success of Despicable Me 2, which was released this July and grossed $850 million at the box office.

Considering those adorable Minions are the primary attraction, you can expect a movie devoted to them to see similar numbers upon release.

Directed by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin, Minions will feature the voices of Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm (but not as the Minions, sadly).
