As Breaking Bad comes to an end, it’s interesting to see its exiting stars forge ahead. Dean Norris and Betsy Brandt have parachuted into network TV series, whilst Bryan Cranston looks set to dominate the big screen with a number of high profile roles.
But what of fan favourite Aaron Paul, aka Jesse Pinkman?
He’s going for glory by starring in the video game adaptation Need for Speed, which is no doubt hoping to capitalise on the growing popularity of the Fast & Furious franchise.
Directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor), Need for Speed doesn’t seem to hold too much promise. The cars look pretty and the action satisfactory, but it’s hard to get too excited for the feature film version of a long-irrelevant game.
Yet, the casting of the uber-talented Emmy winner Paul, as well as supporting turns from Imogen Poots and Dominic Cooper, make this slightly more intriguing than your typical lazy actioner.
We remain intrigued.
It hits cinemas March 2014.
