Michael B. Jordan, formerly of Friday Night Lights and The Wire, is one of the year’s biggest breakout stars, thanks to his acclaimed performance in the indie hit Fruitvale Station.
The studios are now eager to scoop him up, particularly 20th Century Fox.
According to The Wrap, Jordan has met with Roland Emmerich for a potential role in the upcoming Independence Day sequel.
Though he is just one of many young actors to have met with the director, Fox is reportedly very keen on working with Jordan, and vice versa.
It has been long rumoured that Jordan will also play the Human Torch in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot.
Will Smith, who was once unwilling to come back for another instalment, is said to be interested on returning following the flopping of his vehicle After Earth.
Independence Day 2 arrives July 3, 2015.
