Marc Forster won’t direct World War Z sequel for obvious reasons

World War Z

Though World War Z went on to become Brad Pitt’s highest grossing film – and one of the year’s biggest hits – it’s important to remember how troubled its production history truly was.

Because of that, Marc Forster won’t be returning to direct the sequel.

In a THR profile on Pitt’s shingle Plan B, it’s revealed that planning on WWZ2 is still in its “nascent stages,” but Forster certainly won’t be back to helm.

World War Z’s budget blew-out when the original ending was excised, and entirely re-written and re-shot.

It was rumoured that, as shooting wore on, Forster and Pitt (both star and producer) had stopped communicating with one another.

So, yeah, no surprises here.
