Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly to reunite on Devil’s Night

Step Brothers

Comedy superstars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are teaming up again in new Sony comedy Devil’s Night, according to The Wrap.

The pair has already worked together on Step Brothers and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and fans are eager to see more from the duo, with Step Brothers grossing $120 million worldwide.

The screenplay by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (who previously co-wrote Yes Man) takes place on October 30, aka Devil’s Night, an unofficial American holiday associated with pranks the night before Halloween.

Ferrell and Reilly will play old childhood friends Leonard and Gabe who are torn apart by the holiday – and possibly a prank gone wrong – and reunite on Devil’s Night fifteen years later to save their neighbourhood.

It’s unclear at this early stage if the violent nature of Devil’s Night in real life Detroit, Michigan from the 1970s to 1990s will be the setting for this comedy, though it seems unlikely.

Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions will produce.
