Jason Statham in talks for Melissa McCarthy’s spy flick Susan Cooper

Depending on your perspective, Jason Statham has either never starred in a comedy, or all his films have been comedies.

Deadline has just revealed that the serious action man is in talks to star in a comedy titled Susan Cooper, opposite Melissa McCarthy.

Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids, is behind the proposal for this female spin on a spy film.

Statham will obviously be looking at a similar “straight” role like the one Sandra Bullock played in Feig and McCarthy’s most recent successful collaboration, The Heat.

If it comes together, he’ll star in the film alongside the recently announced Rose Byrne, who is turning into quite the regular in Paul Feig films.
