After weeks of rumours suggesting Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street would be delayed until 2014, sources close to the production tell the L.A. Times it will indeed see release in 2013.
Paramount will reportedly distribute the picture on Christmas Day. That is, in the U.S. No word as to when Australian and New Zealand filmgoers will get to check it out.
The studio will likely now delay their other December 25 feature, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, until the new year. Joke’s on you, America. We were already getting it in the new year!
By squeezing The Wolf of Wall Street into the Oscar eligibility window, the film retains its status as one of the big players at the 2014 Academy Awards.
Based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Matthew McConaughey.
