Will Sam Raimi direct Evil Dead sequel, Army of Darkness 2?

Sam Raimi might helm the long-anticipated sequel to Army of Darkness. That is, if Fede Alvarez is to be believed.

Alvarez, the director of the recent Evil Dead remake, Tweeted the “news” over the weekend.

When asked if he’ll go behind the camera for Army of Darkness 2, he clarified: “Sam Raimi will!”

Should this thing go ahead, Bruce Campbell would likely reprise his iconic role of Ash.

Alvarez is instead working on the sequel to his Evil Dead do-over, making the whole timeline of Evil Dead movies super confusing right now.
