Back to work boys!
Because they’d be insane not to, Universal has confirmed a third Despicable Me movie is in the works.
Expect it in cinemas June 30, 2017.
Don’t confuse Despicable Me 3, however, with the still-slated Minions spin-off, which will debut in 2015.
The series concerns an ex-supervillain (voiced by Steve Carell), his three foster daughters, and an army of adorable, yellow henchmen.
Despicable Me 2 was the breakout hit of 2013, grossing more than $935 million at the box office, eclipsing its $76 million budget.
The film holds the record for Universal’s second highest grossing pic, after Jurassic Park, and the studio’s most profitable feature.
Will audiences have Minion fatigue by 2017, though?
Nah.
