Sorry Batfans: you’re going to have to wait another year before seeing Ben Affleck as the Batman.
Warner Bros has delayed the release of their untitled Man of Steel sequel by ten months, from July 2015 to May 6, 2016.
The studio’s official reason for the new date is to accommodate director Zack Snyder and his team; to “allow the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story.”
However, rumours abound Affleck sustained a leg injury that will shut down production for six weeks. (Wait a second? Is this the work of some voodoo-loving Affleck haters?!)
Nonetheless, this at least moves Batman vs. Superman (or whatever they end up calling it) out of the crowded 2015 blockbuster season, where it would have faced off against The Avengers 2 and Fast and Furious 7, among others.
It will instead do battle with an untitled Marvel movie in 2016.
Joining Affleck in the flick is Henry Cavill, once again playing Supes, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
