Warner Bros. has revealed Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor in their upcoming – and still untitled – Batman vs. Superman movie.
Eisenberg is certainly a surprise pick to play Superman’s nemesis, especially considering Bryan Cranston and Joaquin Phoenix had both been rumoured to be circling the part.
Still, it should amount to an interesting departure for the iconic comic character. That is, unless Eisenberg is planning on shaving his head in preparation.
It’s not the only major casting announcement WB made over the weekend.
In an official statement, the studio also unveiled Jeremy Irons as the new Alfred, loyal butler to Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne..
As previously revealed, Gal Gadot takes on the role of Wonder Woman in the flick.
Henry Cavill will reprise his Man of Steel part for director Zack Snyder.
It hits cinemas May 2016.
