Alexander Skarsgård will play Tarzan and Margot Robbie his Jane in an upcoming Warner Bros production based on the classic characters, Deadline reports.
Director David Yates is attached to helm the big-budget 3-D flick, set for release in July of 2016.
Pre-production on Tarzan was halted in 2013, perhaps the result of WB’s nerves over releasing another Edgar Rice Burroughs adaptation so soon after the epic flopping of John Carter.
It seems they’re now less nervous about the endeavour, perhaps because they have an unfathomably handsome actor to take the lead role, and an up-and-coming starlet in the form of Aussie Robbie (fresh from The Wolf of Wall Street).
Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson are also set to star in the flick.
