Eternal Oscar bridesmaid Roger Deakins has bowed out of shooting the next Bond movie.
Deakins broke the news to Kris Tapley of In Contention, at some kind of dinner party for bad-news-breakers.
Bond 24 is the rare James Bond sequel to see much of the creative team return from the previous instalment.
Not only is star Daniel Craig back, but also director Sam Mendes.
Sadly, not the famed cinematographer, who earned an Oscar nomination for his work on Skyfall.
The 11-time Academy Award nominee is hoping to win his first at the 2014 ceremony in March, though his work in Prisoners is a long-shot to beat Gravity DOP Emmanuel Lubezki.
Perhaps he’ll win for his next, non-Bond project, which just might be a Coen brothers movie. (The long time Coen collaborator was unavailable for Inside Llewyn Davis because he was shooting… Skyfall).
The untitled Bond 24 is set to hit cinemas late 2015.
