Recent Oscar snubbees Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks might soon reteam for a Cold War thriller, Variety reports.
Spielberg is circling a few potential projects to serve as his next directorial effort, and though the long-delayed Robopocalypse is the closest to getting a budget approved, this Cold War flick might just cut in line.
Hanks would star in the flick as James Donovan, an American attorney hired by the CIA to secretly negotiate the release of a captured pilot in Russia.
The untitled feature, penned by Matt Charman, is based on a true story.
Spielberg and Hanks previously worked together on Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Can, and The Terminal. The two of them also produced HBO series Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
