Alec Baldwin joins Warren Beatty’s ‘Howard Hughes’ flick

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard any news on Warren Beatty’s long-gestating Howard Hughes biopic, but here’s something to sate your appetite.

According to Deadline, Alec Baldwin will play Hughes’ lawyer Bob Maheu in the flick.

Funnily enough, Baldwin also starred in Martin Scorsese’s Hughes biopic The Aviator, playing the eccentric billionaire’s frenemy Juan Trippe.

Baldwin joins Martin Sheen, Matthew Broderick, and Annette Bening in Beatty’s project.

Though Beatty is playing Hughes, it’s worth noting that the film centers on the love affair between Hughes’ assistant (Alden Ehrenreich) and a young actress (Lily Collins).

Early reports suggested Felicity Jones had the lead female role, and that her character would eventually fall for Beatty’s Hughes.

Let’s hope that… doesn’t happen in the final piece.
