Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are set to reteam, though not for a sequel to The Campaign.
According to The Wrap, the duo will take the lead roles in Richard Linklater’s upcoming adaptation of Daniel Asa Rose’s reportedly “touching” memoir Larry’s Kidney.
Ferrell would play author Daniel Asa Rose, who ventured to China with his cousin Larry (Galifianakis) for a life-saving – and illegal – kidney transplant.
Also along for the ride: Larry’s mail-order bride.
Though comedy doesn’t traditionally travel all that well internationally – not like the international language of Godzillas or fighting robots – the Chinese setting might make this the first to truly capitalise on the burgeoning Asian moviegoing market.
It does not yet have a shoot or release date.
