Woody Allen’s ‘Magic in the Moonlight’ trailer sees Emma Stone charm Colin Firth

The trailer for Woody Allen’s Magic in the Moonlight has arrived, and with it, an idea of what the damn thing is actually about.

His plots are usually shrouded in secrecy until a trailer drops, though we have known for some time his latest would star Emma Stone, Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden and Jacki Weaver.

Set in the South of France during the Jazz Age, Firth plays a spiritualist debunker who falls for a fake medium (Stone).

Though a potential romance between the 53-year-old Firth and 25-year-old Stone has its ickier elements, it’s pretty much par for the course when it comes to Allen’s filmography.

It’s rare for the director to have two good releases in a row, and considering Blue Jasmine was his last effort, the odds are stacked against Magic in the Moonlight.

We’ll find out if can break the curse when it hits cinemas later this year.
