Frozen has been available to watch at home for a few months now, but it’s still breaking box office records.
Over the weekend, the Disney juggernaut surpassed Iron Man 3 to become the fifth highest grossing film of all time, with a worldwide tally of $1.219 billion.
The highest grossing Disney picture, however, remains The Avengers, which sits beneath Avatar and Titanic (both in the $2 billion dollar club) with $1.518 billion.
It’s unlikely that Frozen will be able to climb any higher, as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 sits in fourth place with $1.341 billion. That may be too steep a hill for even Elsa and her pals.
Still, fifth position is nothing to sneeze at, and that $1.219 billion is certainly nicely supplemented by the home entertainment sales (not to mention the gargantuan success of its soundtrack).
