Oliver Stone is set to make a movie about NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, The Guardian reports.
Stone will adapt journalist Luke Harding’s biography The Snowden Files, which tells of the National Security Agency contractor’s decision to leak classified documents and then subsequently find asylum in Russia.
In a statement, Stone called this “one of the greatest stories of our time.”
The Guardian will work closely with Stone on the film, being the initial publication to publish Snowden’s leaks. (Harding is also a Guardian journalist.)
The picture will begin shooting before the end of the year.
It will race another Snowden biopic, No Place to Hide, to cinemas.
